Light My Fire

Here are the unplugged chords that I use to play the Jose Feliciano's 1968 hit cover of The Doors' Light My Fire. "The song is built on the harmonically interesting chord change of A minor to F sharp minor. These two chords are not related through one scale. However, if you consider that the F sharp minor chord is related to the F sharp minor pentatonic scale, which in turn is just an A major pentatonic, then the chord/key change can be interpreted as a shift from A minor to A major. This process is often referred to as 'modal interchange'." The song is played in a 4/4 Latin tempo. I play the song in the original key of "Am" in standard tuning. The chord fingerings I use are as follows: Am7 = x02010; F#m7 = 242222; G = 32003x; A13 = x02022; D = xx0232; A/C# = x4222x; Bm7 = x2423x; A = x0222x; D/F# = 2x023x; E7sus = 02020x; and E7 = 02010x..

Verse
