It has been a crazy past few weeks. Let's review: The 4th graders went to St. Augustine. The 5th graders had their Fun Day at the North County Pool. We had a anti-bullying presentation (Omega Man). We had a "Preparing for Adolescence" presentation. The guidance counselors from Storm Grove and Sebastian River spoke to the 5th graders about middle school. The 4th graders went to the Environmental Learning Center. We had a Teacher Work Day. We have our Specials Night tonight (Wednesday). Our Millionaires (there are 10 in my class - that's almost half) are going to the Gifford Aquatic Center on Thursday! And last but not least, we are planning for our 5th grade graduation program.
Whew! I don't know about you, but I can't keep it all straight anymore. I have to commend my students for adjusting to this crazy schedule. I have had to send half of my class to other teachers' classrooms while I accompanied the other half on the various trips. They have all been great.
There is still a lot of school left and a lot going on in class. We are completing several projects over the next few days. The mythology stories (see this rubric for help Mythology Rubric. ), and our Colonies brochure are due this Friday. The Stock Mark Game ( The Stock Market Game) is almost over (the market has not been kind to investors lately), and we are taking our final district assessments.
