These are the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). Several of the questions below may have been on this site before, but they are brought back for further emphasis. Please take the time to read all that we have to say here before emailing us or signing the guestbook. You may find that your question has already been answered.

The reason we don't allow religion to be discussed is because of statements like your last one. Not everyone who comes to this site belongs to the same religion or even believes in the same things. Religion is a banned topic simply because things always come down to "my religion is better than your religion" and quite frankly, NO religion is better than another one. Even though the Backstreet Boys thank god and seem to ascribe to a more Christian-oriented faith, they are just five people and do not accurately represent the majority of the world religions. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs - just don't bandy your religions about in our guestbook.

WWTT is not a political site. Unfortunately, many people (oftentimes Americans) forget that people of all nationalities are online and may visit this site. Yes, we (the co-founders) live in the USA, and so do the BSB, but that does not give us the right to assume we are the only group of fans. Don't forget that many Americans that do visit this site may not be old enough to vote, so discussions on recounts or whatever have no place here.

Why did you put Freedom of Speech on the "banned" guestbook topics list?
It was added to that list because so many people forget that it works for both sides. We are not trying ot censor anyone's Freedom of Speech. In case you didn't notice, we are exercising our Freedom of Speech by setting up this website. This argument always ends in a stalemate - hence it's removal from this guestbook.

Why do you talk about Freedom of Speech? I'm not from the USA and that doesn't apply to me.
The Freedom of Speech was brought up by the multitude of American fans who attacked what we said early on in the infant stages of this page. We posted legal facts to counteract those attacks. Yes, the Freedom of Speech doesn't apply to everyone, and not everyone is lucky enough to be protected by it. However, the co-founders of WWTT both live in the USA and this site was founded here, so we are protected by this Amendment.

But it IS only fiction - who cares?
Fanfics may be only fiction, but for the final time: the Backstreet Boys - AJ, Brian, Howie, Kevin, and Nick - are all REAL PEOPLE. Pick up a book of fiction and read the back of the title page. Usually, there is a disclaimer stating the characters in the book are all products of the author's imagination. That is true fiction.

What's the big deal? You know that AJ thinks/does this... Brian thinks/does that... etc.
THAT'S the big deal. We don't know what the Boys really think about anything until they tell us. We don't presume to second guess their opinions or thoughts on anything. We are only going by the personas they have presented to us. What the Boys do off-stage, off-camera, off-print is nobody's business but their own. Why people are so obsessed with everything these Boys do is beyond me.

That's untrue. Many people have been able to post many comments that adhere to the guidelines we've posted. These guidelines were created to facilitate conversation in this guestbook. If you can't say anything other than the "banned" topics, then you don't have to leave an entry. We don't always read or see every single BSB appearance or article. The Boys are featured in hundreds of publications and television features all over the world, and it would be next to impossible to read/see every single one. Why do so many people think that the fact that each BSB cusses is a valid argument against WWTT? Just because I took French in high school doesn't mean that I'm a French sympathizer. All different types of people use foul/vulgar language. This is by no means a logical argument. I personally cuss more than I should, but sometimes, using certain language in a story is necessary IF IT FITS THE MESSAGE YOU ARE TRYING TO GET ACROSS. However, we do allow some profanity in the guestbook, but if your message crosses the line into severe vulgarity, then it will be dealt with immediately.

We are sorry you are receiving flames from WWTT supporters. We have never told or encouraged anyone to flame a site simply because they didn't like what was there. What somebody did of their own accord is not our responsibility. If you have been attacked by well-meaning WWTT Supporters, please contact us immediately at: What_Would_They_Think@yahoo.com. Please include a description of the incident(s) either by copying it into an email, attaching/forwarding the email, or sending a link to the guestbook where the flame is at.
