The Grosse Ile Nature and Land Conservancy is committed to uphold its mission of land protection by ensuring sound management of all land parcels and conservation easements for which we are responsible.

Property stewardship includes the creation of a management plan for each stewarded property, biannual monitoring, boundary marking, and trail development or other visitor enhancement projects, if appropriate. Continuous monitoring and maintenance is necessary to ensure protection of the land that donors entrusted to us and to provide an enjoyable and safe experience for visitors.

Sound conservation easement stewardship is achieved through careful planning, accurate baseline documentation of each easement property, annual monitoring, consistent documentation, and maintaining communication with landowners.

There are numerous opportunities to assist the Conservancy with various property projects. These include trail construction, trail maintenance, sign installation, cleanup, exotic species removal and other activities. Please contact us if interested in helping.

Beginning with acquisition of land and conservation easements, and continuing with sound stewardship practices, the Grosse Ile Nature and Land Conservancy is committed to protecting the wildlife habitat, wetlands, and scenic views, entrusted to our care for enjoyment by future generations.
