Westin Safari Bar
Well since the mounting locations are the same on all model Tacoma's I purchased a this bar so I would have a mounting place for some lights and to set off the look a little. I got it at Pepboys auto parts for $90. It's another $30 for the mounting brackets but since I have a 3" body lift and the fact that they didn't have any in stock for the Tacoma's I opted to build my own out of some 4" x 1/4" steel angle. I cut off some 3.5" wide pieces and then marked and drilled the four holes so they would bolt up to the stock tow hook locations and then marked and drilled out for the 2 1/2" holes for mounting the bar it's self. This worked out pretty good and the bar is pretty sturdy. I added some 6" HID style lights for it that I also got at pepboys. They are really white but they are not as bright as I would like so I might swap them out for some piaa's. you can also check out this bar at www.westinautomotive.com |
