2001 Billet Grill Mod

Well this was a total pain to do but the end result turned out pretty well. I started off with a billet grill for an newer F-150. It ran about 80$ from a local pepboys auto parts.

0023.jpg (68712 bytes) The grill removed. It's not too hard just need to take out turning lights, take out the little end pieces under the headlights and then use a long straight screw driver to take the grill out but pushing on the clips that hold it.

0044.jpg (61912 bytes) Here's the grill after I've cut out the center. You need to be a little careful on this step. If you look close there are three tabs that actually hold the grill in so you need to cut around them a little. All I did was try to cut close to the inside edges of the grill without messing it up to much. I did put some scratches on it but in the finished product it's not that noticeable.

Used some washers to space it out a little because it was uneven due to the bend of the stock grill. I was going to put it behind the grill itself but with the tabs that have to stay there, it worked best to bolt it in. Plus it helps to cover up the marks where the stock portion was cut out.

0069.jpg (71130 bytes) this is the center parts and pieces that were cut out. I first cut out the main part and them went back to make closer cuts and get the rest out.
