Getting Started. First pannels being glued togethere. I decided to use buttstraps because I wanted to use available material and I would have had to go to Cebu to get the fiberglass tape and resin. |
Prating, my neighbor, cleaning up the excess epoxy on the second 16 foot pannel.
I put plastic between them and glued one over the other so they were
exactly the same shap and size. It worked out pretty good. |
Working on the transom and frames. Prating didn't do all the work but I did
take almost all the pictures. Here you can see the hollow block
stacked up on the butt block while the epoxy sets up. |
Cutting the 1x3s from 1x4s for the frames. We used a machete to get the rough
shape then a hand plane to finish off the pieces before we glued them to gether
with the 1/4 inch plywood gussets. Gluing was done over the
plan and a scrap piece of 1x2 was temporarily nailed across the top of the frame
to retiain shape while they dried. |
