Tale of The Elves
by KeeperofVilya

A tale of sorrow, love, hope, and fear
A tale that spans many a year.
Of kings and rulers, tyrants and foes
Heroes and victors, and tales of woes.

The tale of Morgoth in evil so dark
Who turned from the light and from the mark.
Of the Silmarils, the one pure light
Stolen away and cast into the night.

The battles are told of Lord Sauron.
The battle against evil, goes on and on.
The death of Gil-galad, last of the high kings
And the final destruction of the One Ring.

There are tales of Lórien and Rivendell
Tales of joy and sorrow we have to tell.
Lord Elrond the wise in many of the ways
His rule spanned across many a days.

Legolas the prince, of Mirkwood’s lands
Braver than most, with quick eye and hands.
Celeborn the great, strong and wise
With sternful face, and watchful eyes.

Galadriel the exile, the last one to go
By refusing the Ring, her strength she showed.
Arwen the fair, gave up immortality
For the love of Aragorn, for all to see.

Elros of the elves, left that race
To become like men, and look death in the face,
Tales of Mirkwood, dark, deep and green
One of the fairest woods, ever seen.

Fangorn Forest, oldest in the land
So old few can really, quite understand.
Stories of Sindarin elves are told
Who refused the Great Journey of old.

The Quendi were the first, tis true
Of all elven kin, when the world was new.
The silvian race, grey elves of the forest
In Lorienth and Mirkwood, different than the rest.

The Eldar-People of the Stars they’re called
Never returned to Middle Earth and are missed by all.
Fëanor made the Palantir and Silmaril’s ore
Which lead to the downfall of the Noldor.

Doraith the kingdom among the oak
Home of Lord Thingol the Greycloak.
Tales of Norgothrond and Gondolin of old
Mighty fortresses of battles told.

Beleriand the most ancient elven realm be
Alass, destroyed by Morgoth under the Sea.
The tale of Glorfindel, one of the last Noldor
Defender of Rivendell, and so much more.

Haldir of Lórien’s wooded lands
Who never saw the sea’s soft sands.
Thingol the greatest of the grey elf kings
Rumor of his fate, will forever ring.

Tales of Thranduil, Mirkwood’s beauty sing
Legolas’ father and a mighty elf king
Of Forlindon under rule of Gil-galad
And of Harlindon, which Celeborn had.

The Noldor who sailed over the Sea
But never returned for us all to see.
The tale of Turgon, Lord of Gondolin
Here the line of Elrond and Elros begin.

Neldoreth, great fortress of Beleriand
Under the rule of Thingol’s hand.
So many tales that must be told
So many tales that we must hold.

Tales of heros and tales of foe
Tales of happiness and tales of woe.
Places and times past and present
People of old and people who were sent.

King and Lords and yes Queens too
Those who knew what they had to do.
So many stories and tales to tell
Ones we all know, and we know them well.

These make up the history of the elven race
History we’ve had to look, square in the face.
Tales of splendor, defeat and true love
Of times we fell low and then soared far above.

It’s a tale of sorrow, love, hope and fear
A tale that spans many a year.
The future lies before us, ready to see
What will happen next, is up to you and me.

Black Riders
by Happy_Hobbit

Out of the tower of Mordor
On black steeds darkness rides
Evil flowing around them
As they seek their masters prize

Over the grasslands of Rohan
Screams voices that are fell
All who hear them quaver
As sorrow falls like a spell

They're gather evil about them
Driving all hope away
Turning to terror any who callenge
Fright and Panic hold sway

Sweeping up through the gap of Rohan
Wave upon wave of fear
Feeling the power is closer
The thing they are seeking is near

Upon the shire a dark hand closes
Hate in its frightful grasp
Pain and sorrow will fall there now
Has HE then got the ring at last?

All is not yet over
Darkness does not yet hold sway
The dark master has been thwarted
The ringbearer has bourne it away

They follow now ever closer
Persuing with all their might
Until with a stab in the darkness
they seek to put out the light

But friends fight there with him
They have brought him hither
To Rivendell, to elven healers
For now darkness has drowned in the river

So in Rivendell for the moment
The ringbearer lies at rest
Though he for the moment doesn't know it
To him is given the quest

That quest to rid us of evil
To drive the darkness away
By destroying the RING OF POWER
And so bringing Middle Earth a new day

Hobbly Hobbit's Party Poem
by Happy_Hobbit

Welcome to my party
Have a happy time
Be musical or arty
or neither thats just fine

Stay awhile forever
Eat well, have your fill
But please don't overdo it
I don't want you to be ill

Friends you will find here
Some old some new
Let laughter fill our hearts there
For the important ones are you

Share in all the laughter
Have fun, enjoy the fare
So your memories ever after
Will show how much I care

Hope that love will find you
Health ,happiness and good fate
Safely return you homeward
May Starlight bless the path you take.

Sam's Lament
by Happy_Hobbit

Here where darkness gathers
Here where death holds sway
Together we'll wait for whatever
For a new Dawn or the end of Days

You did not choose this course freely
The offer was never yours to make
Fate made the decision for you
The ringbearer must decicde Middle Earths fate

I've watched you through all of your Journey
The high points and all of the lows
I've seen you suffer the ring
Overcomming both fear and foes

I've seen you bear this burden
Watched as you put others first
You sought to lessen their sorrows
But it is you that has suffered the worst

Slowly you succumbed to its evil
It tore you from reason, from friends
I followed, It was my destiny to do so
To be with you at journeys end

Now that the ring is destroyed
Now you have finished this task
I'll hold you my dear Frodo
Until death claims us at last

The Dove
by Happy_Hobbit

You fell to earth
A dove with broken wing
No longer would you fly above
Nor ever sweet voice sing

I found you lying
Despair in your bright eye
Tended you and gave you hope
I wouldnt let you die

I held you up
Raised you on high
Gave you back your freedom
Cried when I saw you fly

Go my sweet Dove
Find at last your song
For all the love in my heart
You're free as you belong

Why?
by Happy_Hobbit

I held a world in my hand,
And watched it turn to grains of sand.
I saw its light of truth grow dark,
And heard the sound of breaking heart.
I tasted of its bitter rain,
And through me swept a wave of pain.
As lies unravelled from the web,
I saw my hope break and ebb.
And as it grew cold and still,
I felt betrayals icy chill.
Then with one last desperate cry,
I heard me ask the question . . .Why?

The Ring
by Happy_Hobbit

Her perfect form would grace any hand yet she belonged to only one,
their bond was special, beyond love, she was his for eternity.

In her finest hour she was radient her light shone, but she was cut
down, taken from her most beloved. She would not endure this toment,
he sought to master her but she betrayed him.

Long years she lay cold and in deep sorrow till by chance another
found her. He held her up showing her the light and she warmed to him,
but one stronger than he also saw her majesty and in the excitement
of their first meeting he killed the one who had sought to hold her.

They were outcasts now, he took her away to hide in the dark places
where they could live together unhindered.
In the gloom she claimed his heart. He would do anything for her,
even kill. She was his now and yet she yearned to be free for he
was not the one she loved, to him only she belonged.

Many years passed until she heard His call once more, knowing the time
was right she fled from the darkness and was almost free when she
was once more taken, she tried to presuade her new suitor to take
her home but he closed his ears to her pleading and she remained a
prisoner once more.

Why must she endure this? she only wished to be reunited with her one
true love, she knew he sought her and her every prayer was that he
would find her soon.

Soon came the time for the journey her old Lover was close and she
felt him urging her to seek a way back to his welcoming embrace.
She worked her magic and to her surprise found herself on the road
heading home.

She carefully played the group she travelled with tempting them with
her beauty, her power, promising them untold joy if they would but
do her bidding, still she was taken closer and closer to her beloved's
hand, once more they would be as one.

Finally she was there, at the very place she was born, she shimmered
in the red light, happy to be home she waited for her one true love to
claim her once more.

Just as she thought she would be with him she was snatched away angry
she tripped the one who now held her, screaming they fell to their
doom as the lava claimed her she felt the one she truely loved abandon
her. Then she melted in the fires of Mount Doom and was no more.
