Chapter Four
The guys were all sitting around Chris's livingroom. They were all trying to calm their nerves by eating, listening to music, and just hanging out. Jc, Joey, Lance and Chris were worried about Justin. Chris seemed to be the only one that Justin would let get near him.
One by one, the guys drifted upstairs to Chris's guestrooms, and soon it was just Chris and Justin downstairs. Justin looked so out of it Chris wasn't sure what he should do. Eventually he decided to try and get Justin to talk.
"Hey J, how are you holding up?" Chris asked as he sat down next to his depressed brother.
"I..." Justin sighed, shifting on the couch to face Chris.
"I'm really scared Chris... scared and... it's hard to believe Brit's gone. I don't want to believe it. We've been friends since we were little..."
Justin felt tears spring to his eyes again. Chris hugged him, but when he went to pull away Justin wouldn't let go. Chris just kept hugging him, rocking him gently as he began to cry again.
"Listen to me J. You need to pull yourself together. I know this is really hard on you, believe me I know. But there is nothing we can do to change the ultimate fact... I'm here to help you, but you need to stop sulking and make an effort to let yourself heal."
"I know... It just hurts so much..." Justin said with a sniff, quietly apologizing to Chris for wiping his nose on his shirt.
"I know it does," Chris said, rubbing Justin's back.
Finally Justin pulled away from Chris and wiped his eyes. He looked up at Chris and a small smile appeared on his face. Chris looked down, his whole shoulder was covered in tears and other stuff that Chris really didn't care to think about.
"Oh, you think that's funny, do ya?" Chris asked, pretending to be upset.
Justin nodded, his smile growing a little more.
"Okay then..." Chris said, pulling off his shirt and attempting to wipe it on Justin.
Justin's eyes widened. He jumped up and started running, with Chris not far behind.

Jessy and Ashley were standing outside the address that was on the card Johnny had given them the night before. Both looked nervously at each other.
"Alright, it's one o'clock, we're on time..." Ashley stated, rubbing her hands together.
"Yeah," Jessy said, taking a deep breath. "Let's go."
They walked inside, and asked one of the guards where Johnny's office was, showing him the card. The guard smiled slightly and pointed them to the office. Ashley knocked on the door.
"Come in!" Johnny yelled. The girls walked in just as a load of files fell. Johnny cursed quietly and started to pick them up, looking up only when he realized he had help.
"Good afternoon, ladies," he greeted with a smile.
"Good afternoon, Johnny," they said together.
Jess picked up one file and started to collect the papers that had spilt out of it, when she realized the folder said 'Kirkpatrick, Chris' on it. She nearly dropped the folder and all of the papers again.
"Everything okay?" Johnny asked.
"Ye- yeah, fine," Jess nodded, and started picking up papers that belonged in the folder.
Johnny noticed the necklace Jess had on and smiled. It was a Chris Kirkpatrick necklace. He stood up, and so did the girls, all with folders in their arms. Johnny motioned for them to stack the folders on his desk and sit down. The girls did so and waited.
"Well, I saw you last night, and I think you're both wonderful. But I do need to see more of what you can do. I think I know... I'll introduce you to a few people that could show you some steps and things, and you can show me what you can do at the end of the week. How's that sound?"
The girls looked at each other and nodded, then looked back at Johnny.
"Sounds great," Ashley said. "When do we start?"
"Right now if you like."
"Sure!" the girls said together as all three of them stood up.
"Great. Follow me, I know just who to bring you to," Johnny said as he opened the door, letting them out first.
They down the hall and outside, straight to the "playground".

Justin was feeling better then he had felt the day before. Chris had really lightened his mood, though it had taken a lot of work. Now the poor guy was dragging himself around, and refused to go take a nap.
"Come on Chris, just go get some rest... I feel bad because I wore you out..." Justin urged.
"What did you just say?" Chris asked, lifting his head up slowly to meet Justin's gaze.
"I said, I feel bad because I wore you out," Justin repeated, and was immediately tacked by the older man.
They wrestled on the floor, the other guys watching and cheering, and nobody noticed the three newcomers in the room. After a moment, Justin rolled over Chris and pinned him.
"I... I let you win..." Chris panted. Justin just smirked.
Ashley and Jess stood there, stunned, as they watched their favorite group before them.
Johnny cleared his throat, getting the guy's attention. "I uh, hope we're not interrupting anything important..." he said with a smile.
Chris spotted the girls and shoved Justin off of him, standing up and pretending to brush himself off. "No, just challenging the alpha singer of the group," he said.
"And you lost. Now get back in line, shorty," Justin said teasingly.
Chris growled and gave Justin a warning look before turning his attention back on Johnny and the two girls.
"Yeah, anyway... I have something for you guys to do," Johnny said, shaking his head at Chris and Justin.
"And what would that be?" Jc asked.
"I found these girls last night at a club. They sang beautifully, but I do need to see some more before I go to sign them. I'm putting you five in charge of teaching them a few things before I evaluate them at the end of the week."
"Sure, we'll do it," Lance said with a smile.
"Great. This is Jessy and Ashley," Johnny said, pointing to each girl respectively. "please try not to scare them to much."
"Us? Never..." Chris said with a grin.
"Nice to meet you, ladies," Joey said, kissing each of their hands.
"Nice to meet you guys," Jess said when she found her voice again.
"I'll leave you all alone to get to know each other. Good luck, girls," Johnny said before heading back to the main building, leaving Jess and Ashley alone with the guys of *NSYNC.
