Cloudy and cool.
A pretty good day today. I got up before 9:00am this morning to watch the news broadcast. I watched it and drank a bit of coffee. Did my usual morning stuff, and decided that I really should get dressed so that I didn't go back to bed!
I putzed around the apartment, not doing too much. I finally cooked lunch around 3:30 and left around 5. As my class had cancelled after I left my school yesterday I had already set my heater to come on. I wanted to check the school and reset the heater for tomorrow.
I biked over to the school, reset the heater and read a few pages of my novel. Then I left. I did a quick run to the drugstore to get more sweetener, then hit the grocery store for tonight's dinner.
When I got home, Fumihiko was already there. He's feeling a bit better, but his throat is sore and he coughs quite a lot. We said our hellos, and after a bit he left for the party. While he was gone, I ate my dinner, did computer stuff and then decided that I wanted to watch some Friends. I haven't watched any for a while, so I put on a dvd. I watched 3 episodes by myself, and then hubby came home and I watched another one with him. He laughed quite a bit, although I laughed more!
He told me that the party was okay, but he didn't really enjoy it. It was all men, none of the women went. (They were probably at home with their children. I think we may be the only childless couple here.) We didn't have to sign up to do anything this year, although hubby thinks we'll have to do it in a couple of years. I'm going to let HIM take care of that though.
We spent a quiet evening together. Fumihiko took his bath and when he came back we had a long talk about Huckleberry Finn of all things! In my younger days I actually played Tom Sawyer on stage, and my worst enemy played Huck Finn. I must have been good, because years afterwards I had people coming up to me telling me that they enjoyed the play. (Wildwood Alberta doesn't get much live theater!) We got onto this topic because of Garfield the cat. I had just seen the dvd of the second movie when we were in Toys "R" Us last week. It was really expensive so I didn't buy it. Fumihiko bought us the first one and it was surprisingly funny. The second one has a Prince and the Pauper storyline, which is how we got on the whole Mark Twain subject.
Anyway, that's it for me again. Fumihiko has another party tomorrow night. He's going to Sakata for a welcome party. It's a bit inconvenient because he can't take his car to work tomorrow, but hopefully he'll have a good time!
