This room is for Fiction fans. "Fiction" itself is a broad term. You can include many different sub-catergories under fiction because fiction is essentially something that has been created in somebody's mind, and is not the re-telling of a true event, like non-fiction.

Now what????

I've put in some links to my favorite authors below along with a small list of of some classic writers' sites. There are so many writers, with so many sites devoted to them, that this is really a tiny listing in comparison to what a search engine will have. The best way to find an author's site, or several of them, that you don't see here is try Yahoo's List of Literary Fiction Authors. They have an expansive listing of writers!

I've been bad, I admit. I have offered no fiction writing resources on this page, and that is about to change!! Here we go:

Fiction Factor A great site for articles, tips, markets for writers, contests, and more. They also take article submissions.

Coffeehouse For Writers This is an informative website that also offers a newsletter called, "Fiction Fix," which in their own words is a "newsletter about the nuts and bolts of crafting better fiction." A nice site.

Suite101.com offers a lot of information on writing. If you go to the main page and click on "books/writing" you'll see what I mean. Here are just two of their pages, more specific to fiction.

1) Writers Resources Websites, articles and more for fiction writing.

2)Writer's Block A neat page with an article on the dreaded Writer's Block, as well as some links to websites that help pull ya out o fit!

1001 Fiction Writing Articles A LOAD of information for fiction writers.

Inscriptions, a wonderful weekly ezine also runs writing contests for fiction occasionally, offering prizes to winners.

E-Publishers!

Roberts Publishing Publisher of our Silver Quill winners, as well as many resources for writers, and more

Writers Write: List of ePublishers They offer a huge listing of almost all of the ePublishers out there. Alphabetical, and efficient.

If you have any suggestions also on reference sites, E-mail me and I'll be happy to check them out. Also, please keep in mind, there may be broken links to any of these sites at a given time. I try to keep on top of them and fix them when I know they are down.

water drop Margaret Mitchell House A complete site on her...biography, works, etc...If you like Gone With The Wind, I think you'll like this site.

water drop Louisa May Alcott, The Life and Works Of I'm a big "Little Women" fan...and this site should tell you everything you ever wanted to know about Louisa May Alcott but were afraid to ask!

A Few Classics

Lewis Carroll You'll remember him best as the author of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."

Willa Cather Author of "O Pioneers!", "My Antonia" and "Death Comes For The Archbishop."

Norman Mailer Author of "The Executioner's Song" and "Oswald's Song."

Toni Morrison Author of "Beloved."

Charles Dickens Author of the classics, "A Christmas Carol", "A Tale Of Two Cities", "Oliver Twist", and "Great Expectations", among many others. Informative site, easy to navigate, and good "Vibe" to it!

F. Scott Fitzgerald Author of "The Great Gatsby." This is a neat page with good graphics and listings of his works.

Truman Capote Author of "The Grass Harp","Breakfast At Tiffany's," and "In Cold Blood." There is not a large number of sites for Mr. Capote. This site was the most informative one that I found.

Jack London Author of "The Sea Wolf" and "White Fang."

Harper Lee Author of "To Kill A Mockingbird." This was Ms.Lee's only novel and look at the classic it has become. This site is a review of the book, and nearly every word in it...defintions etc!

William Faulkner Author of "As I Lay Dying" and "Go Down, Moses", among many others. This is an expansive site. Take your time.

Michael Crichton Author of "Disclosure", "Jurassic Park", "The Andromeda Strain", and many others. This is his offical site. It has plenty of graphics, so if you have a slow computer think about it before going over!

Herman Melville Author of "Moby Dick" and "Billy Budd."

James Michener Author of "The Drifters" and "The Covenant." This is his official page, so it has a lot of good information.

Witch Hunt! By Kelly Roberts, now available at www.robertspublishing.com!

tree Christopher Moore Homepage This guy is one of my favorites because quite frankly, how can you not like books with titles like "Bloodsucking Fiends", "The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove" and my personal favorite, "Island of the Sequined Love Nun". They are just plain fun...take a look at his site, it's fun too!

tree Carl Hiaasen Remember the movie "Strip Tease" with Demi Moore and Ving Rhames? Well, it's based on the much more excellent book by Carl Hiaasen. Needless to say, he has several other books, and the site is worth a peek!

treeThe Official Unofficial Dave Barry Page You've probably read his articles in the paper on Sundays. He works for the Miami Herald...as does Mr. Hiaasen...and has authored several books which are just as good as his articles!

...I could feel her crying. Shaking and crying. She wouldn't look up. I put my arms around her... "Oh Jake, we could have had such a damned good time together." Ahead was a mounted policeman in khaki directing traffic. He raised his baton. The car slowed suddenly pressing Brett against me. "Yes" I said "Isn't it pretty to think so?"
