Sweet and Sour
'Cos life's like that at the moment.

A bottle of sweet chilli, and Soy. I'm not fond of either condiment but they are daily staples on the supper table at our house. The 'powers' that be, usually apply generous lashings of chilli on every meal.

I just lost this post twice before managing to load it up. I think we've had a few power surges, as its a very hot day today, and as usual the power grid is not able to cope. We had the same problems last year, and it almost lead to some sort of civil unrest, as the local gov. is unable to provide us with a stable power source. Everyone was saying that it almost felt like we were living in some third world country. I think its high time the local governing mob got their act together!

Sweet or sour? pass the sauce.

Easy Reading and the art of neglect
Just recently I have been neglecting lots of different things in my life, in an active way, through an act of choice, rather than passive resistance.
I seem to have the art of neglect off down to a fine art now. What I don't do I ignore, what I need to do gets left behind, and through this my blogging has suffered. I don't feel I have the energy to sustain it ALL.
I will not blame myself, no, never myself. I am not to blame in any way - I am just a victim of circumstance!
...........I think summer has a lot to answer for, open windows that let in fresh air and noises that I'm not used to hence interrupting my sleep to the extent that I prefer to suffocate in a hot room rather than endure the night sounds.
...........Christmas with its impending faux excitiment, an event without my name on it this year, dh having to work all throught christmas and New Year. He will need to sleep through the rest of the festivities, to rest after many hours on shift work.
..........End of year hub bub, and endless lists of things to do. Writing report cards,
..........shopping - lengthy lists of possibilities to buy for, just in case the festivities spill over to my house...just in case.

Sap, sap sap.

.......exam fever - DD's all in exam modes. Tears of frustration and exam stress spilling over in the kitchen as I do my best to comfort and console, tea and comforting words when really I need them for myself.
..........These feelings - all so familiar , that they've become an annual event.
......... Thinking of things to write about in the blog have become difficult....cos between you and me - easy reading is damn hard writing....at least for now.

Fading roses
Another gift. Their perfume filled the whole room, it really reminds me of English summer gardens.

Christmas workshop
This Saturday we are having our school christmas workshop, and I am up to my neck preparing tons of 'interesting' kiddie christmas activities, that seem to be taking up all my time this week.

Here's one of the things we will be making...its a christmas card ball, thingy, very pretty and colourfull to look at, but a real bugger to prepare.

I 'thought' I had a sack of old used cards in the garage, and spent half a day looking for them, only to vaguely remember one of those New Years clutter purges, when I decided that I would never need those cards again. Not till NOW I didnt! Note to self - never ever throw anything out ever again!!

I am busy: cutting up calico squares with blunt pinking shears for some lino printing, printing out a self made xmas word sleuth, branding all the new pinking shears I bought with name tags in case they accidentaly go ' walk about', shopping for tiny bits and pieces to stick onto the Xmas trees we are making thanks to Enchanted Learning.com, and funneling tons of glitter into shakeable jars. There is probably more, but I'll think about it all tomorrow. Man-yana is another day!

Reunion
Its been ten years,I kid you not.... since our kids left primary school.
A few weeks ago I received an invite to attend a 'mums reunion at a local shindiggery while our kids - class of 199- (?) ...something went and had their reuniuon in the old school grounds.
DD managed to rally her old friend to go with her, while I went alone hoping to catch up on gossip and chat once more with mums who I used to hang out in the school grounds while waiting for school to finish each day.

I was dissapointed to see only 12 'old' faces, but glad in a way as it gave us a chance to catch up in the noisy food hall.

There was much laughter, photo albums passed around with wedding photos, and off course catch up chat.

It felt great to hear everyones news, and really, just to see people whom I have'nt seen for a long time - well....ten years now. I see a few of them occassionaly at the local shopping centre, but apart from that some have moved on to live in other suburbs.
We all eased into comfortable chat right away, feeling as if we'd all seen each other the day before, rather than had ten years pass by!

We chatted like long lost friends hoping to do the same again very soon, hopefully with a few more faces on board.

It was just fantastic to see you....Marlene -your'e still the same, crazy and amusing - only now - non blonde - and bless you for your funny stories and smiles, Kathy - see you in the shop probably tomorrow...Kathy gives me great wardrobe advice! Nika, Annette, and the rest....hope you enjoy the photo of us all here! I think we all look really great!

Between you,me and James Bond

Between You and Me

How can Pierce
Brosnan's highly polished and, no doubt, hand stitched shoes be filled
now they've dropped him as James Bond.

I was reading the latest poll from
the UK, in the International Express, the weekly Expat tabloid
that keeps me in touch with all the latest happenings at  home in
the UK. They are giving Jude Law a  8/1 hope of making it to be the
latest James Bond rating. But what about the other contenders?

Hugh Grant, cad Extrodinaire, but
may not be tough enough for the role, he gets - 12/1.

Ewan Mc'Gregor, even though the
Force is still with him after Star Wars, he only gets a 12/1 as well.

Between you and me?

Here's what I think ......Jude Law?
Too girly. Ditto Robbie Williams. George Clooney? Physically spot on and
the right degree of sparkle, but Bond with an American accent? I think
not. Russell Crowe? Too 'Bruce' and a little thick around the ...um, now
what s the word I'm groping for? ah, yes, ...the waistline . He also
looks too aggro for my liking.

 Personally I'm in the Pierce
is perfect, and if it ain't broke don't change it camp - how about you?
