How to Adjust Before Birth


In most cases, parents may be more anxious knowing
they will soon be caring for two babies instead of
one. There is a higher change of giving birth to
premature babies and babies who are of small
weight in twin deliveries than in nontwin
deliveries. It is up to the mother to properly eat
and take care of herself to ensure her twins stay
as healthy as possible. It may be beneficial to
meet and converse with other parents of twins for
emotional support or advice. It may be more
convenient to purchase items such as two bassinets
or cribs, 1 twin stroller, two baby highchairs,
two baby car seats, double clothing, and more
formula or food ahead of time. Preparing other
children in the family by informing or educating
them of twins and new arrivals may make the
transition of two new babies at least a little bit
easier for them to handle in the household.
