time to work! (but first...)
Mood:  quizzical
Now Playing: the Daiko is poor and wants to get employed song!
Topic: resources

I found an interesting place for possible webhosting (for future reference) and it looks very promising (especially now since Netrulon.com is now dead.)

Dickblick.com
an online art supply store

an excellent resource that lists various free webhosts

the promising host I mentioned

I can X hosting.com
-the best deal I've ever seen for webhosting
they will be a lifetime host for one payment!
(I will probably do a more in-depth review of these guys in the future, just keep in mind that they're excellent- they'll even give you a free domain name if you choose them for hosting!)

****
Anyways, aside from all that above,
the Daiko is currently wondering how she could get some nice paid work...

I've got an account over at e-bay, and I do have my lovely store but I'm still not recieving any income from either (not even my shop, and I've had that open for a few months now T-T *sniff*)... ah, and I don't think anyone seems to care for a commisssion from me either. -sigh-

...but that's okay
while money is important, it isn't my ultimate goal- not at all

it's just that this is a thing, a tool that lets me do things- in the end, money is really worthless
but to live in this world, it can help me -sigh-

Lord, may I never be obsessed with money
I know that you will take care of me,
that you told me not to worry
I'd rather be faithful and do as You say
rather than be rich

I would do well to remember this when I think of all the things that I'd like to have...

(pray for me...
and my little brother- he needs help getting through college with having ADD and all...)

continued pursuit
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: news downstairs on [public] tv
Topic: resources
(that is, the continued pursuit of many things in this life of mine- as well as the continuation of my "hunting down an excellent computer at a bargain price" theme.)

I am happy!
I've been finding so many things as of late:
(some nice deals on computers- mostly laptops)
CNET looks at laptops
some Netscape search results
-another reason why I love using Netscape instead of IE: elegant searching, and good results

interlude: intro to Table PCs
a look at prices of T-PCs at Tom's Hardware
some laptops (non-Tablet) at Tom's

T-PCs at the save eagle store
the save eagle store itself

product_info/overview/index__cat_id--462,prod_id--7588172.html my dear Lord, this is a beautiful miracle!]

(other sites that aren't necessarily having to do with the above)
CNET's review of the eMac
my happy search on Google: freeware
excellent: New Tricks for an old PC

****
-and while this is nice, I won't be able to buy any computer at at (not even one under $300!) until I find some sort of paid work I can do... -sigh-

I am a student with the capability of doing freelance Commercial Artwork and I am able to make use of Graphic Design but I have no business... anyone care to commission me?

my online pastime: looking for good hosting!
Mood:  not sure
Topic: resources
I found something interesting while searching around a bit for free [as well as nice paid] hosting:

Icanx hosting.com
this site has a nice deal of life time hosting much like another site offers, but icanx offers this for a lot less! -so this is really good! (-personally, I would go for the $99 package, but that's just me... wow! one whole gig of space!! I like this! )

good resources
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: (slight irritations on Dinah's end)
Topic: resources
[Free digital art (and photo editing) tools]

[Webmasters' empire.com]

http://www.superimagehost.com

Netrulon.com (this place looks like they will be really good once they get started up, but I wonder if they are really able to provide so much and if they're truly any better than this other place that I mentioned earlier. Also, I found what looks like another good paid hosting service just a little while ago.)

webceo.com

webscale.com

I'm posting this for my own good- this still isn't finished though.

****
I found this nice place that had a good tutorial on ftp [while I was searching on Google], but I still don't know if it is possible to use ftp on a computer that is not one's home computer (I think that it is though) -sigh- I want to e-mail some one so that I can recieve a definative answer (which I'm hoping will be, "yes")

****
EDIT2: arrgh! I was about to finish this entry off, but for some reason the computer that I am on acts strange whenever I close a browser window and shuts everything down- it's okay though. ...Anyway, this is a journal entry in which I pretty much just share some resources with the internet community in general- I had meant to post about my recent experiences over the weekend while I was away at Rock the Universe but that hasn't happened yet...

ah well, I'll think on happy things... like [tablet macs] and [mouse pens]... and interesting wacom products.

(oooh, Googly-ness... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=Tablet+Mac&btnG=Google+Search)

-sigh- and that's all for now.

(woo hoo! just a bit more before I stop this and get to class... http://www.gizmodo.com/archives/a-tablet-mac-by-january-007994.php http://www.kstati.com/tabula/

yay for Tablet macs! -I say they're the future.)

[/unfinished entry]

Pondering the nature of viruses (and other things)
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: nothing really.
Topic: resources
-yes, I was pondering the nature of viruses- how they invade and at times pervert the true nature of the living creatures that they claim as their hosts.

...it is quite intriguing that viruses aren't even classified as living creatures due to the fact that they cannot reproduce on their own (nor do they consume and excrete materials as we do)- I am going to study them in microbio. class, and I hope to learn more about them.

****
Aside from that thought,
I have recently been viewing places online in search of web hosting, and I have run across some worthy places:

[100 Best Free Web Space.com]
this is a site which lists and reviews various free and paid hosting services

[Free pro host]
this place will offer you a lovely 100mb site with other wonderful features such as mySQL ^_^

[Lifetime webhosting.com]
-like their URL says, they'll host you for a good long time, possibly for your entire life!
-this isn't a free service though, but you only pay them a one time fee and you will have their services until the day you stop having them as your host.

****
Anyways, for today
not much was done...

-sigh- it's been strange around here
my older brother has been sick (off and on)
for the past few days now
at times he would have a fever
and then he would not later in the day

I don't get it
(but I would appreciate your earnest prayers for him,
I really don't know what's wrong, yet I'm happy that my mom is going to take him to the doctor soon...)

-sigh-

Well, because my brother was ill
I stayed in today
I didn't go out
not even to the library or to confession
as I usually do...

-I felt a bit odd not doing that
not going along with my normal routine.

-and there's other things going on as well
which I have a hard time saying,
but I can still ask you to pray for me,
so I will.

-Daiko~
(pray for me, please.)
(yes, I will fix this entry up more later.)
(... hm, I wonder- I could link my [deviantART journal] in the sidebar, couldn't I?)
[today's DA journal entry]
