
Sitatunga are a rare species of antelope but in this area are fairly often seen grazing in the reeds along the shoreline. For the ornithologist or just birders and photographers sightings of birds such as Pels Fishing Owl and African Skimmers are common.
Time will be spent at the lily-covered lagoons that contain hippos, large crocodiles and abundant bird life. Numerous wildlife documentaries have been made of Savuti. The upgraded campsite is now equipped with a modern elephant proof ablution building with abundant hot water. Prides of lion and packs of hyena hunt the migrating herds of zebra. Even-tempered male elephant frequent the campsites. Chobe Park is big game country and is full of all the major species found in Botswana. It is home to the greatest concentration of game in Southern Africa. Through out the year large herds of elephant and buffalo can be seen drinking along the river's edge, their numbers swelling to hundreds and sometimes thousands during the dry month.
Boat rides down the river can be arranged at any of the hotels in the area.The Victoria Falls is a sight that cannot be missed while visiting Chobe. A short trip of some 80kms across the Zimbabwe border will provide our clients with an unbelievable experience. Bunji jumping and white water rafting can be arranged for the more adventurous.
