SUBCONTRACTING

The PSDP has defined a good number of possible projects which can be undertaken in the execution of its work. In the following lines, a short description is given. The actual assignment can not be indicated, as they will be formulated as and when demand is forthcoming.

In the execution, PSDP intends to subcontract this to interested and able parties.
Should your organisation be interested to be considered for any contract, please contact us.

PROMOTION OF ADVOCACY FORUMS

Mobilisation and promotion is needed in order to stimulate acceptance and therefore demand for the PSD concept. Advocacy forums contribute to increased empowerment of the local business community and dialogue to overcome problems, which are hampering PSD.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Business Development Services include:

Business development services enhance the quality of management through training, advice, counseling and consultancy at a higher level on a one to one basis. Also promotion of potential markets, information provision (a/o. on technology) and the creation of linkages contribute to stronger and more competitive enterprises. Increased competitiveness leads to increased sustainability.
Support to the establishment of business information centers can assist in overcoming problems of lack of information. Linkages could be realised in access to credit and finance, marketing, production, personnel, transportation.

Big business does not need this; it is oriented towards medium and small enterprises. Micro enterprise would lack capacity to make appropriate use.

CONTRIBUTING TO AN ENABLING ENVIRONMENT

Information must be gathered on licenses, taxation, regulation, controls. This information must be made available. By comparing the logic of the needs for licenses, taxes, regulations, controls and the realities, a better understanding between private and public sector can emerge.

INTERMEDIARY ROLE BETWEEN SERVICE PROVIDERS AND BENEFICIARIES

It is clear that would be beneficiaries do not know where to get the services or how to get the services, or which services or avenues are available. Even sometimes entrepreneurs do not recognise their own needs, or areas for improvement. PSDP has now started to collect profiles of service providers who are in the Lake Zone.
The information will be updated from time to time and could be disseminated to potential beneficiaries/clients in different forums and on demand.
As an intermediary, PSDP can arrange the part of a "moderator" of service providers, development organisations through facilitating the establishment forum where they can meet to discuss "align " their activities for achieving maximum/ optimum impact by avoiding replication and reinvention's.

CAPACITY BUILDING

For the administration (local and district government, regional government),

For the service providers,

For interest groupings and associations.

A study may be executed to systematically determine the potential of well-defined markets. It contributes to increased sales, and enhances profit potential.
New opportunities for business need constantly to be identified. These new business opportunities which otherwise would remain untapped, can be disclosed It contributes to an expanding sustainable private sector.
