On the first day of Christmas Break, Brian, Tom, Kyle, James, Dan O., Brent, Justin "Eskimo", and I were having a "good time" around the fire in Kyle's backyard. Contrary to populat belief, we weren't drinking. There was a beer bong that someone left there earlier. Also, beer was strewn amongst various pieces of firewood, and noone knows how the cans got there. So, we were having a good time telling scary stories around the bonfire. These weren't the typical stories however. They were scary. Between stories, Garvey was trying to karate chop a flaming two by four Joy Hurd style. Then it happened. We saw the flashing lights of a fire truck. Our first reaction was "whose house is on fire?!?!.' That lasted about five seconds. We realized why they were on our street. An unidentified voice around the fire clamored "run!!!," so we all did. Everyone, that is, except Kyle. It was his house. He was stuck. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. As Justin and I hurdled the fence, Brent and Dan O followed us. Kyle met the authorities halfway. He said, "There is no problem. Me and my friends are just having a controlled fire in a pit." The fireman told him that there was a complaint of a six-foot tall conflagration raging instead. So, they checked the scene and discovered a beer bong and nobody around the fire!. The 'smoking gun' was found, they said, but not so eloquently. Rather they bluntly stated that the police may be informed. In the meantime, Justin, Brent, Dan O. and I regrouped. James and Brian went to run an errand and spotted us. We told them what happened and they laughed, and continued to drive around tauting us. After twenty mintues of walking around, we returned to the scene to cleanup. Everyone went on his way. As i was going to bed at 330 AM i spotted numerous police cars patrolling the street looking for the "criminals." This continued for about five days, and promptly ruined the teenagers' break.
