BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The third in the line of production model EVAs. Unit 04 was a test subject as it was to be the first Evangelion to incorporate the S2 Engine, a variation of the S2 organ which resides within all of the angels. If successful, the EVA would be able to operate without depending on the umbilical cable, furthermore, this system would no doubt be utilized on all other EVAs. However, during the construction phase in which the engine was going to be installed into the EVA, Unit 04, its support team and the entire second branch of NERV were swallowed into a sea of dirac. Making the Evangelion lost to the universe forever. Unit 04 was never actually seen in the series, so aside from the knowledge of the S2 Engine, all we know about this model was that it shared the same physical appearance as Unit 03 and was to be colored white.



COMBAT RECORD
Construction on Unit 04 was never finished, thus, the EVA never served in actual combat, nor was a pilot ever chosen.
