WEAPONS LISTING
Through the many battles with the Angels, many different weapons were used in order to defeat them. Most were conventional weapons while others were... not so conventional.
PROGRESSIVE KNIFE
The standard hand-to-hand weapon in an EVA's arsenal. The prog knife was small enough to be store in an EVA's shoulder compartments for the most desperate of situations. The blade of the prog knife when activated would begin to vibrate at an incredible, yet controlled past. The vibration rate was fast enough that it enabled the blade to cut through any material at the molecular level.
PROGRESSIVE KNIFE - CUTTER TYPE
An enhanced version of the progressive knife outfitted for use with Unit 02. Essentially the cutter type is just an EVA sized x-acto knife. It performed at the same effeciancy as the original prog knife, except in the emergency that the blade was broken; a button on the bottom of the hilt activated a second blade for continued use of the weapon.
SPEAR
A conventional spear which was used by Unit 02 on one occasion. Another close range weapon that proved to be quite useful as it was able to split the seventh angel cleanly in half with one swing of the blade. However, it was only used on one occasion.
AXE
Yet another of Unit 02's short range weapons. A conventional axe that wasn't used in any actual combat, however it was obviously capable of cutting through most materials.
PISTOL
A regulation handgun that didn't see much usage. Unit 01 used the pistol to attack the 12th angel, the weapon proved to be useless in attacking the angel.
SNIPER RIFLE
A long range rifle utilized by Unit 00. Standard model sniper rifle which fires high velocity shots over a long distance. However, in it's usage against the angels, the rifle proved to be very in-effective.
PALETTE RIFLE
A fully automatic assault rifle that was outfitted for use by all of the EVAs. This weapon was utilized for attacking the majority of the angels, however it only proved a useful weapon against the 9th angel.
POSITRON RIFLE
A powerful, shoulder mounted cannon used by Unit 02 in the second offensive against the seventh angel. It was declined for use against the fifth angel due to the unit not being able to sustain the amount of energy required to destroy the angel's AT field.
JSSDF PROTOTYPE LONG RANGE POSITRON RIFLE
The main unit of offense deployed against the fifth angel. This custom sniper rifle was built by technological development section 3 to be able to sustain the power of the entire nation of Japan. The beam fired was powerful enough to pierce the angel's AT field and destroy it's core.
SHUTTLE SHIELD
A massive sheild used by Unit 00 to protect Unit 01 from the particle beam of the fifth angel. The shield was actually a part of the space shield before being re-designed for use as a shield. It also had an electro-magnetic base coating that could withstand the high intensity of the particle beam for approximately 17 seconds.
ROCKET LAUNCHER
Another shoulder mounted weapon used by Unit 02. The rocket launcher was the initial weapon used against the 15th angel. The launcher was powerful enough for the rockets to be launched out into space. Against the angel however, the weapon proved to be useless.
LANCE OF LONGINUS
With no other means to destroy the 15th angel, use of the Lance was ordered. Upon usage, the Lance proved to be very effective in that it could pierce clean through an AT field and eradicate it's target. However, the Lance's purpose was not that of a weapon. Originally discovered in the wasteland of the former Antarctica. It was brought back to NERV HQ and carried by Unit 00 to terminal dogma, where it was then stabbed into Lilith to keep her crusified.
