As Full Professor at Tokai University I am working in Materials Science on the development of functional materials, that are metals, ceramics, semiconductors, and their thin films, with the purpose to reduce the CO2-emission on Earth.


The present research of our group concerns the following topics:
- development of thermoelectric materials by improving the electron-phonon interaction (EPI),
- ab-initio band structure simulations,
- crystal engineering, especially interfaces,
- knowledge discovery (KDD) by data mining,
- specimen fabrication by powder-in-tube (PIT) powder metallurgy
