Mother 3 is the third game in EarthBound/Mother series but does not use any of the main characters or towns from any of the previous Mother/EarthBound games. Mother 3 does however use many similar plot elements and humor the Mother series has come to be known for. Officially released only in Japan, the game is available to American and European players through an illegal ROM.
