Super Smash Bros. Melee was released on December 3, 2001 for the Nintendo GameCube and is the all time highest selling game for the GameCube. Ness is back, of course, and SSBM should only increase his growing popularity. Ness's talents have been toned down considerably from the first Smash Bros, so he is not nearly has dominant as he was in SMB. Ness's downward kicks, yo-yo attacks, and PK Fire attack, have all been weakened. However, Ness has gained an incredibly powerful (but immensely slow) PK Flash attack, which can hit multiple players at once, making it devastating in 3 or 4 player fights.
