DUIT is an acronym for Duchies United In Trade, but that does not adequately explain who we are. In the eloquent words of Duke Pan, "Duit is a mosaic." A mosaic of individual duchies where each Duke or Duchesse is in charge of their own internal affairs. Yet also connected to the other duchies in DUIT with friendship, respect, and trade. We realize everyone is different and we do not fault them for that. We strive to allow everyone to voice their opinions, and respect those opinions as we wish our own would be.

Moreover, DUIT was originally formed to give our PO's safe and tax free trade routes. When our own duchies do not have realistic prices, our PO's do not have to blindly trust some duchy that currently has the high price for their commodity. They can trust that the DUIT duchies are safe and tax free. No more fear of DD'ing on a planet in Sol or being taxed to death by jumping into another duchy. However, we are not completely about trade.

The Dukes and Duchesses that make up DUIT realize that new players are the life blood of the game. So we try to make DUIT a place where PO's and FO's can learn the finer aspects of Federation. Whether these aspects are economics, fighting, planet design, chatting, role playing, learning to have fun, or all of the above. Because we realize that we wouldn't be playing any more, if all we thought important was profit.

DUIT is more than an acronym, it's a background for our members to expand upon.
