How Stuff Works A great location to learn how something works.  Everything from jet engines to refrigerators are all clearly explained.

  Census Bureau Interested in what happens to all of the census data that was collected?  For detailed information on any country, try the CIA Factbook for details. This will help with papers or can be used for general research. Students Government will give you insight into a variety of questions from taxes to to financial aid. Once you are ready for college, you may want to look at Petersons. This is a good place to start on your college quest.

  A+ Research Guide This looks into the "art" of writing a research paper.  Geared towards High School and College.  Also consider Family Education and Research Paper,  for the Internet Public Library, go to the IPL Reference desk.

Homework Center A well done site to help you or your kids with homework.  Broken into groups covering first grade through college and beyond.  Big chalk also is a good research starting place for all grades.

  Encyclopedia Britannica One of the best known encyclopedias hits the Internet. Go here if you need a Dictionary that includes information on grammar and even several foreign language dictionaries.

    Quia A useful location for all school subjects.  Includes many activities based on current school text books.

  Beanie Babies A favorite of kids and parents alike.

Fun Brain A location that caters to grade school kids.  Games and quizzes make learning fun.  Also check out The Idea Box which includes game ideas, fun recipes, craft recipes and other fun ideas for kids and  Lycos Zone which is a great starting portal for children of all ages.
