Abraham served during the Revolutionary War as a Corporal under Capt.Cobron in
the Anson Milita during 1750. He later became Captain of his own Company in
1770. He was commisioned to establish the Tryon county line and to build a
courthouse. He held positions to levy taxes, became Justice of the Peace, and
served on the Public Safety Committee. He received land grants in Buncombe Co.

Benjamin and his brother Enoch both enlisted in the Confederat Army, mustered
into Comp. F, 16th Reg., N.C. Troops. They both saw actions, 31 May 1862- 13
Aug 1862, in Virginia, Seven Pines, near Gordonsville Va. Enoch deserted and
went west. Enoch traveled as far as Billings Montana, and leter settled in
Vermillion Co., Indiana, near Dana. There he married his second wife.
