Alright... you asked for it

My name is Alex Kruglov, and I was born on August 17, 1979 (20 years old now... isn't that scary?!?) in Kiev, Ukraine. I have one sibling, Luba, who was born in 1983. In Ukraine, I went to elementary and middle school until my family arrived in the US on December 2, 1991. We came to live in Brighton, MA, where I went to Taft, a Boston public school, where the majority of my fellow seventh-graders were in their twenties with full-grown beards and a complete lack of interest in academics. (Imagine my first impression of the States!!!)
The next schoolyear, I repeated the seventh grade to become a "sixie" in the Roxbury Latin School, aka "the oldest school in continuous existense in North America." There, I spent the next 6 years in a cozy all-boys atmosphere (this is your best chance to make fun of me!), where I met some of the best friends I'll ever have.
Unfortunately, during my senior year, on November 29, 1997, my father passed away at an untimely early age, of cancer. He wold have been proud to find out, though, that a few weeks later, I was accepted into Brown University. Right now, I'm a sophomore at Brown, considering majoring in Business Economics and Sociology with strong interest in Computer Science and Visual Art. As far as exta-curriculars, I was a TA last year for Computer Science 002. This spring semester (my 4th) Christina Dong and I are going to take on the role of head TAs for that same class. The job should be pretty hectic, but rewarding at the same time. We already hired a good TA team and are looking forward to the rest of the semester. I keep telling myself that I am also going to persue music, but so far, all I have managed to do was check out a bunch of shows at Lupo's and the Underground.

Hobbies:
As many of you know, I love music, enjoy drawing, reading (though I haven't picked up a book for peronal reading once during the schoolyear!), and doing whatever any normal student my age enjoys doing (you fill in the blank!). Actually, I've also kinda enjoyed designing this webpage and teaching myself html, but I don't know if that constitutes for a hobby yet. Recently, I started writing "epinions" on different things ranging from music to movies to electronics to books. Click here to check those out. In highschool, I played soccer, lacrosse, and wrestled, but I was never really serious about any of those. I do enjoy watching World Cup Soccer and occasional NFL football games, though.
