Why not try our tender delicious chicken and beef at restaurants that serve Simply Grazin' meats.

We are not the Stonyfield Farm that sells the yogurt and we do not distribute to any stores.  This would not allow us to know our customers, and our customers to know us.

Availability

Beef:   available year round.  Raised without the use of antibiotics, steroids, growth hormones or genetically modified organisms (GMO's). We try to process every month depending on supply and demand.  Because our beef is 100% grass-fed and never, ever receive any grain, the Spring, Summer and Fall availability is more abundant than in the winter months. Processing is done at Bringhurst Meats in Berlin, NJ.

Chicken:  available year round.   Chickens are raised outside in portable pens on a diet of pasture and certified organic feed free of growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics or GMO's.  December through April they are raised indoors and fed their certified feed as well as certified organic grass hay, alfalfa and clover.  Processing is now done at Bringhurst Meats in Berlin, NJ.  They are the only certified organic processor in New Jersey.  Packages carry the USDA certification and federally inspected labels.  We can now sell chickens whole or in cuts.

Pork: Available year round. Raised without growth hormones, steroids or antibiotics.  Their certified organic feed is free of genetically modified organisms or GMO's.  During the winter months the animals are raised in an indoor-outdoor facility  with a diet of certified organic feed, certified organic alfalfa and clover hay.  Spring, summer and fall, the animals on pasture supplemented with certified organic feed.  Processing is done at Bringhurst Meats in Berlin, NJ, a certified organic and federally inspected facility.

Processing

All processing of beef, pork and chicken is done at Bringhurst Meats in Berlin, NJ,  the only federally inspected, certified organic facility in New Jersey.  The trip is one hour.  Animals are held in a comfortable, clean, stress-free environment for three days before they are processed.

What’s organic?

Being organic means that we do not use any chemicals at all - on our fields or in or on our livestock. All the grain feed that needs to be used for the chickens and hogs is certified organic (produced without chemicals). The livestock may not be born in an organic environment but lives out its cycle in one. There’s more to it than that and we can inform you if needed; just let us know.

What’s certified organic?

Being certified organic means there is a third party that enforces the USDA’s organic code.  Our certifying agency is the northeast organic farming association.  Our farm id# is F157.  For livestock to be certified they must be born on a certified farm. Chicken can be hatched at a hatchery but must begin their second day on organic feed.  All of our chicken and eggs are certified.  Most of our cattle are certified, although we buy some calves and some breed stock from local farms. There is no source of organic animals so we are breeding our own. There is definitely no grass based operations to buy from.

What’s grass based?

This is a philosophy.  We believe in allowing the animals to do what God intended them to do.  Ruminants are intended to eat only grass and ours do just that.  If they are meant to eat a mix of grass and other forages, then that is what they get.  They live a clean stress-free life while  here, breathe clean fresh air, grow at the rate they would naturally with minimal interference from mankind.
