Profiles & Images

Hey there!! If you're reading this, then that means that you've made it to the Profiles & Images Page. Here you will find general info on Sailormoon the anime, personal profiles for all the main characters, & tons of images.

This page will take awhile to load, so be patient. If your computer supports javascript, then you should see some lovely little pics of all the senshi to the left that will light up when u drag your mouse over them.
However, if this page is taking ungodly long to load, then head on over to the quick loading page: Profiles & Images

These pics will bring you to that individual character's page & images. However, if you don't see those pics, don't worry, b/c the links are in the general SM info paragraph & at the bottom of this page.

Each profile page contains images of each character in civilian form & senshi form. These are individual images, not group ones, so there isn't that many. However, ALL the images I have are in the Image Gallery. This gallery is separated into sub-galleries, so things don't get too confusing.
And now, since all the preliminary stuff is out of the way, on to MY version of the Sailormoon story.

For those of you who are new to the show or haven't heard everything about it, Sailormoon is basically about a bunch of teenage girls who discover they have special powers & a mission to save the world from dark forces. This bunch of teenage girls is collectively known as the Sailor Senshi (Sailor Scouts in NA). The Senshi are headed by a very reluctant (at first), very clumsy girl named Usagi Tsukino. However, Usagi does grow in strength & ability. So by about the 3rd season, she has a handle on what she's suppose to be doing ;). Usagi is joined by fellow Senshi: Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino, Chibiusa, Setsuna Meiou, Michiru Kaiou, Haruka Tenou, & Hotaru Tomoe. Oh, & let's not forget the wonderful, incredibly handsome Mamoru Chiba, who poses as Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Moon's guardian & Usagi's lover. And Luna, Artemis, & Diana, the feline guardians.
In the final season of Sailormoon, the Senshi are joined by a few new characters: ChibiChibi, a fellow (however tiny) senshi & The Three Lights, a popular male music group in disguise (they're really girls!!).

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon (Pretty Soldier Sailormoon) was based on the manga (comic) written by Naoko Takeuchi. Sailormoon ran for 5 seasons in Japan for a total of 200 episodes. It began on March 7, 1992 (my b-day!!!) & ended on February 8, 1997. In addition to the episodes, 3 movies, TV specials, & 5 live musicals also came along b/c of the popularity of the show.
It's popularity is also why it was picked up by other countries. Sailor Moon first aired in Canada in 1995 & shortly later in the United States, brought to fans all over North America by DiC. However, due to North America's rigid guidelines for animated shows, the original Bishoujo Senshi that many either already knew & loved or grew to know & love, was butchered into a children's cartoon show; with corny jokes & moral lessons at the end. Many episodes were skipped or cut b/c of content & the need to shove in as many commercials as possible during the THREE commercial breaks (in Japan, they only had 1, I believe). The states were never even able to see the end of the Negamoon series (SMR in Japan) until FINALLY the last 17 episodes were released & aired on Cartoon Network. (Canada got them before us, but hey, I still got to see 'em, so I'm happy.) By that time, however, we had lost 2 voice actors & the show was never the same (to me at least).
The latest news on the NA Sailor Moon front is that Pioneer is releasing uncut, subtitled versions of the 3 movies. I have also heard from sources that the 3rd season is being released subtitled, to discourage the younger audience from viewing the "questionable" scenes (you know, same-sex relationships & all that). So, Sailor Moon fans of the West, I'll try to keep ya posted on all the new news. (hehe, new news...)

Well, I think that's enough background info for now. My links page will have lots of places to go that will have more detailed stuff on both the Japanese & North American versions of Sailormoon.
