All of the relationships in the novel Pride and Prejudice symbolize a type of love.

Couple Type of Love Description
Lydia and Wickham "Crush" Love This love is the type where the persons involved only become interested in each other based on infatuation or appearance.
Lady Catherine
and
Mr. Collins
"Courtly" Love This is a love of pure admiration. Mr. Collins feeds off of Lady Catherine's approval, and his wife comes second. Mr. Collins is like a knight of the roundtable defending his lady's (Lady Catherine) honor.
Mr. Collins and Charlotte "Convenient" love
or
"materialistic" love
Charlotte accepts to marry Mr. Collins only because of what he can offer her. The two stay married only because it is convenient for them. They both just need someone, not each other.
Jane and Mr. Bingley Romantic Love Jane and Bingley love each other, and it shows. They act like a romantic couple, and they are not afraid to express their love for each other.
Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy True Love Darcy and Elizabeth truly love each other, and it shows just like Jane and Bingley. The main difference is that Elizabeth and Darcy's love have stood the test of time. They experienced many trials throughout the establishment of their relationship, but in the end, their love for each other prevailed.
