Hercules & Xena

You are now in the domain of Hercules and Xena.
A time long ago when the gods were petty and cruel. When the world cried out for a champion. When Hercules first met Xena, she was a warrior princess. But even her morals came to the surface when both found themselves up against a cruel warlord, forcing them to join forces for the first time in The Xena Trilogy, in a temporary truce. If you are not up to the task of seeing this adventure all at once (or you don't have a DVD player and want 3 vhs tapes instead), you may view the trilogy separately. Hercules and Xena would have many adventures, but this would not be their only one together. Two years later, in an animated adventure, there would be Hercules & Xena: The Battle For Mount Olympus.
Xena is a spinoff from the Hercules tv series, though Lucy Lawess had guest-starred in one of the series pilot-movies, Hercules and the Amazon Women (1994) in another role.
Xena and Hercules reruns are seen in syndication, and Hercules is occasionally on the Sci-Fi Channel in marathons or movies:

And as far as videos go, Xena was preceeded by H. Rider Haggard's "She" and "Red Sonja":

The Vengeance of She (1967) is available in Video and on DVD
Red Sonja (1985)
Rider's original "She" was made into at least 2 movies (1965 & 1935)

According to tvpipeline@tvdata.com, actor Bruce Campbell (the charming thief in "Hercules" episodes & then star of "Jack of all Trades") used to babysit little Ted Raimi (Joxer of "Xena"). And actress Vicky Pratt ("Cleopatra 2525") in real life has a blue belt in karate and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in kinesiology.

And by the way, the Hercules tv pilot-movie was reviewed by Joe Bob as an episode of Monstervision,
as was Conan the Barbarian. Sam Raimi, well-known director and brother of Ted Raimi, is directing the big-budget Spiderman movie. It was due in theaters by fall of 2001, but a big fight scene was filmed on and around New York's World Trade Center towers and those scenes have to be refilmed on another building. Movie ads showing that scene were pulled in September along with promotional posters showing the twin towers.

Kevin Sorbo later starred in Andromeda, currently showing on the SciFi Channel:
"After a civil war leaves the universe in ruins, the last starship captain, Dylan Hunt (Kevin Sorbo), and a group of mercenaries set out to restore peace and order to the Commonwealth"

In addition to a bunch of low budget Hercules movies in the 1960s including Hercules Goes Bananas (a past MonsterVision feature), there was:
The Three Stooges Meet Hercules (1961)
The manic trio (Moe, Larry and Curley Joe) travels from Ithaca, N.Y., to ancient Ithaca, Greece via time machine.
Vicki Trickett. Schuyler:Quinn Redeker. Edward Bernds directed. Comedy, 90 min
