CHRISTMAS YEAR ROUND
Christmas is more than Santa Claus
Christmas means more than that because
It’s the time of year when there’s love
For our fellow man and the Lord above
Christmas is more than receiving a gift
It’s the time we give those who are down a lift
It wasn’t meant to be this way
We are to be helpful everyday
Just think how wonderful it would be
To share with others long after the tree
When Christ was born it was God’s plan
That we follow His footsteps and love our fellow man
He showed up the way and gave His Word to live by
All we need to do is give His way a try
He gave us hope and a love that will last
So let’s think of each other long after Christmas has past
Don’t wait till Christmas
to help those who are down
Let’s practice spreading
Christmas love and kindness all year round

CHRISTMAS OF 96
This Christmas has some firsts for me
First without my son, first without a big tree
This year much to my surprise
I saw it for the first time though my son’s eyes
He always got great pleasure helping to decorate
Holiday activities he loved to participate
When exchanging gifts with each other
It never bothered him that sisters got more than brother
Just to see everyone happy gave him pleasure
Even if he only got one gift it was a treasure
He always shared a special joy
The Lord blessed me with this very special boy
The past months I have gone through a lot
I’m indeed grateful for all that I’ve got
Sometimes my eyes may get filed with tears
I’ll always cherish those 16 wonderful years
I pray that we’ll always remember Phillip’s view of the holiday
To be happy with whatever God gives you each day
I learned so much from this special kid
We need to appreciate things as my Phil did
Whenever you get together for the holiday season
Please don’t forget the real reason
Remember about God’s special love
Was He sent His Son Jesus from above
Christmas isn’t just about gifts and a tree
It’s about God’s Son who came to set us free
I pray that you will see things like my Phil use to
If he were here he’d say “Merry Christmas to you”

A CHRISTMAS MEMORY
I’ve got a new look at Christmas since a year ago
When my only son died of whom I love so
Along with his sister they got sick in May
As long as I live, I’ll never forget that day
They both had a disease that any parent would dread
My daughter survived, now my son is dead
The first Christmas home without him was too hard to face
So, we packed up and decided to go to another place
My daughter’s summer vacation wasn’t very long
For it took her that whole time to recover and get strong
So for me and my precious little girl
We decided to spend Christmas in Disney World
For years we kept saying we’d all go there
We’d quickly put it off and go elsewhere
There’s plenty of time, we’ll get there someday
How quickly time goes, now my son has passed away
Filled with sorrow and deep regret
I decided Sharron was to have the best Christmas yet
Even though I was filled with so much grief
I knew this trip would give some relief
Our vacation was so much fun, like no other
Still I miss my son, my girls their brother
On Christmas Eve I walked through beautiful Christmas light
I could feel my son’s presence with me that night
As I walked through I could see his smiling face
I knew that God was with me at this place
As I ended my walk, I felt so much joy
For God allowed me to spend Christmas with my boy
That time there with my son, will be forever in my memory
For I learned there’s more to Christmas than what the eye can see
Christmas has become more special, as I wipe away the tears
I just want to thank you Lord for 16 wonderful years
Thank you for healing my daughter so she can play
Thank you for all the blessings you give everyday
The Lord then spoke to me and wrapped me with His Love
Don’t worry your son’s safe with me watching you from above
The Lord gave me relief only in Him will you find
Comfort when you need it most along with peace of mind
Here it is the holidays again, not like the last
For I have the special memories from the ones of the past
Christmas was never about just gifts and a tree
It’s always will be filled with love He gave you and me
The love of Jesus who’s there when you call
Jesus is God’s best Christmas gift of all

WHAT CHRISTMAS IS TO ME
Christmas is for me,
more than the gifts & a tree.
It's more to the decorations & light.
It's about Our Savior born this night.
He set an example of how to treat our fellow man.
Love one another was His real plan.
I treasure everyday with my family.
I'm grateful for the love He gave me.
No matter what struggles come your way.
He will see you through them everyday.
I'm grateful for my family & friends.
I thank God for His love that never ends.
I pray we all will share
God's love to others everywhere.
