• Plug a microphone into the proper spot on your computer   :)
• Open the SOUND RECORDER program (most likely found by pressing START --> PROGRAMS --> ACCESORIES --> MULTIMEDIA --> SOUND RECORDER)
• Press the RECORD button (yea, that red circle   ;-)   )
• Talk into the mic   ;-)
• Press stop when your done
• Go to FILE , and choose SAVE, or SAVE AS. Type in what you want to name it, and press OK

To make the file as small as possible for easier download, please:

• Click on FILE (still in the Sound Recorder program) amd choose PROPERTIES
• click on the CONVERT NOW button
• in the drop-down box labeled "attributes", pick a low setting, such as: 8000Hz, 8 bit Mono 8KB/s - found at the top of the list
• click OK
• Save the file again
