Eastern Kentucky coach Jeff Neubauer started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Timmy Knipp, 6-7 Jr. Ja’Mill Powell, 6-8 Sr. Eric Stutz, 6-2 Sr. Corey Walden, and 6-2 So. Isaac McGlone. Morehead State Sean Woods countered with 6-6 Sr. Karam Mashour, 6-3 Jr. Brent Arrington, 6-10 Sr. Billy Reader, 5-10 Sr. Kareem Storey, and 6-3 So. Corban Collins.
Eastern Kentucky rallied late to defeat Morehead state by a score of 66-57. The score was tied seven times and there were 11 lead changes in the game. Corey Walden led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points including 12 of 13 free throws and four steals. Eric Stutz added 17 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Isaac McGlone recorded nine points on three three point baskets, five rebounds, and four assists. Timmy Knipp chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, and two blocked shots.
6-2 Sr. Angelo Warner led Morehead State with 17 points including three three point baskets. Brent Arrington added 12 points, six rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and three steals. Corban Collins recorded nine points and six assists. Karam Mashour added six points and 10 rebounds.
