Although Dunbar only returned three of twenty two starters they took advantage of big plays on offense and a couple of costly Tates Creek turnovers to earn a 28-7 victory.  Dunbar recorded 19 first downs and 360 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized seven times for 50 yards and lost a fumble.  Tates Creek recorded 11 first downs and 223 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized 10 times for 62 yards and lost two fumbles.  Tates Creek is returning to a power-I running attack under new coach Antoine Sims.  The Commodores were hampered tonight by injuries to QB Peyton Burke (unavailable tonight) and to RB Martavius Carter.

Fr. Nate Gay led Dunbar’s ground game with 111 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Jay Coleman added 66 yards on 12 carries.  Trey Penney carried the ball nine times for 49 yards.  Trey Penney completed two of four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.  Dontell Brown caught two passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.  La’Quan Taylor scored on a 99 yard kickoff return.  DeRante Sanders led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Quinton Dixon added three solo and two assisted tackles and recorded one tackle for an eight yard loss.
