Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk started the following lineup: 6-3 So. Darius Williams, 6-0 Sr. Troy Black, 6-6 Sr. Kyle Clark, 6-0 Sr. Donnie Lewis, and 6-0 Fr. Taveion Hollingsworth. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Jr. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 Jr. Reese Ryan, 6-7 Sr. Robert Dence, 5-10 Jr. Michael Talbott, and 6-2 Jr. Jarod Griffin.
Lexington Catholic defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by a score of 59-52. Lexington Catholic shot 56.8% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored four points off six Dunbar turnovers. Lexington Catholic attempted 21 less shots (58-37) from the field than Dunbar. Dunbar shot 32.8% from the field including one of 17 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Robert Dence led Lexington Catholic with 20 points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots. Jarod Griffin added 14 points including three three point baskets. Michael Talbott also scored 14 points. Tanner Johnson also reached double figures with 10 points. Reese Ryan pulled down seven rebounds and dished out seven assists.
Darius Williams led Dunbar with 18 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Taveion Hollingsworth added 12 points and five rebounds.
