Lafayette vs. Madison Central (Girls)

Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup:  6-0 Sr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 Jr. Dee Givens, 6-4 Jr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-8 Sr. Ken’yale Demus, and 5-11 Fr. Kiara Pankins.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-9 Fr. Lindsey Johns, 5-9 Jr. Raevin Cain, 6-2 Sr. Shadae Bosley, 5-5 Sr. Bailey O’Bryan, and 5-7 Sr. Hailey Christian.

Lafayette defeated Madison central by a score of 57-34.  Lafayette shot 42.6% from the field including five of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 12 of 20 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 28 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 29.75 from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 21 Lafayette turnovers.

Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 16 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.  Dee Givens added 15 points including three three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and eight steals.  Sarah Cooley chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.  Ashanti Thomas recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Ken’yale Demus added eight points and six assists.

Bailey O’Bryan led Madison Central with 11 points including two three point baskets.  Lindsey Johns added six points.  Shadae Bosley recorded five points, five rebounds, and three steals.
