Nicholas County coach Roger Newton started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Scott Deaton, 5-11 Jr. Dillon Webb, 6-4 Sr. Logan Fryman, 6-0 Jr. Tyler Newton, and 6-2 Jr. Ben Duncan.  Sayre coach Rob Goodman countered with 6-4 Sr. Henry Wolf, 6-3 Sr. Martin Durmov, 6-2 Sr. Augustine Zambrano, 5-9 Sr. Harrison Dunn, and 6-2 Sr. Justin Sanders.

Sayre trailed 9-1 after the first quarter but led 26-18 at halftime on their way to a 49-42 victory over Nicholas County.  Sayre shot 38.1% from the field including zero of eight from the three point line.  The Spartans connected on 17 of 33 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 21 Nicholas County turnovers.  Nicholas County shot 20.7% from the field including two of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Jackets connected on 16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 24 Sayre turnovers.

Justin Sanders led Sayre with 14 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.  6-6 Jr. Quinn Pergande added 12 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Martin Durmov recorded eight points and eight rebounds.

Scott Keaton led Nicholas County with 16 points and 14 rebounds.  Tyler Newton added 10 points.
