Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Sarah Bridenbaugh started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. LaKeena Parks, 5-8 Sr. Lexus Edwards, 6-2 Jr. Brooke Todd, 5-4 Sr. Jordin Fender, and 5-4 Jr. Shakeema Jackson. Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 6-2 Sr. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-8 Sr. Heather Hinkle, 6-2 Jr. Shadae Bosley, 5-5 Jr. Bailey O’Bryan, and 5-5 Sr. Larryn Brooks.
Madison Central pulled away late in the game to defeat Paul Laurence Dunbar by a score of 55-48. The score was tied four times and there were 12 lead changes tonight. The Lady Bulldogs did not have an answer for Larryn Brooks tonight as she scored 29 points in a variety of ways from long range three pointers to drives to the basket to pace Madison Central. Madison central shot 46.3% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off eight Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 34% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Bulldogs connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 Madison Central turnovers.
Larryn Brooks led Madison Central with 29 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and four assists. Ashton Feldhaus added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Shadae Bosley recorded eight points and seven rebounds.
Shakeema Jackson led Dunbar with 17 points including five three point baskets. Lexus Edwards added 13 points and eight rebounds. Jordin Fender recorded nine points, four rebounds, and five assists. LaKeena Parks chipped in with six points and six rebounds. Brooke Todd pulled down seven rebounds and blocked three shots.
