Woodford County coach Scott Hundley started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Landen Young, 5-11 Jr. Chris Honabach, 6-5 Sr. Chase Henderlight, 5-10 Sr. Kyle Howell, and 5-11 Jr. Chris Boggess.  Paul L. Dunbar coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-5 Sr. Eric Trigg, 6-5 Sr. E.J. Floreal, 6-7 Sr. Taylor King, 6-3 Sr. Jamal Adu-Pesah, and 5-10 Sr. Mike Smith.

Woodford County captured a big early season road win with a 68-66 victory over Paul L. Dunbar.  Woodford County trailed 34-27 at halftime but outscored Dunbar 20-12 in the third quarter to take a 47-46 lead entering the final quarter.  There was nine lead changes and five ties in tonight’s contest.  Woodford County shot 44.9% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 18 of 31 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 24 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 40% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on 15 of 26 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 15 Woodford County turnovers.

Eli Boggess led Woodford County with 27 points including four three point baskets.  Boggess also dished out seven assists and was only charged with one turnover.  Chris Honabach added 17 points and four steals.

Mike Smith led Dunbar with 20 points including three three point baskets.  E.J. Floreal added 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Eric Trigg chipped in with 10 points.  Taylor King recorded six points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.
