Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 So. Dee Givens, 6-3 So. Ashanti Thomas, 5-6 Jr. Megumi Nagahiro, and 5-6 Jr. Ken’yale Demus.  Danville coach Judie Mason countered with 5-10 Sr. Kasey Young, 5-5 So. Cameron McPherson, 5-10 Sr. Jordan Leavell, 5-6 Jr. Laken Grey, and 5-5 Jr. Essence Grey.

Danville defeated Lafayette by a score of 61-60 in overtime.  Lafayette led 46-35 early in the final quarter but Danville rallied and Kasey Young hit a field goal in the closing second to tie the game at 52-52 and force overtime.  5-8 Sr. Ieshia Mays hit the second of two free throws with eight seconds left in overtime to give Danville the 61-60 victory.  There were 16 lead changes and 10 ties in this game.

Danville shot 33.8% from the field including five of 21 from the three point line.  The Lady Admirals connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 24 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 37.3% from the field including one of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on 15 of 25 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored on 15 points off 20 Danville turnovers.

Kasey Young led Danville with 22 points including three three point baskets.  Laken Grey added 12 points and eight rebounds.  Cameron McPherson recorded 10 points.  Jordan Leavell chipped in with six points and seven rebounds.

Sarah Cooley led Lafayette with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Ken’yale Demus added 13 points.  Ashanti Thomas recorded nine points, 16 rebounds, and seven blocked shots.  Dee Givens chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, and seven steals.
