SECTION I: HORTICULTURE (Open)

1. VEGETABLES AND FRUIT (Open)

  1. A collection (24” x 24” max. ) of four kinds of vegetable, one of each kind. Each item to be marked out of 10 points.
  2. Four potatoes, one variety
  3. Twelve shallots (excluding pickling)
  4. A vase of five stems of mixed culinary herb
  5. Three carrots
  6. Six runner beans
  7. Garlic, three bulbs
  8. Three onions 8 oz or under
  9. Three onions over 8 oz
  10. Three leeks
  11. Three beetroot
  12. A plate of three tomatoes (with calyx)
  13. A plate of six tomatoes (miniature variety with calyx)
  14. Any vegetable not mentioned above, number optional
  15. A plate of three desert apples
  16. A plate of three cooking apples
  17. A plate of any fruit other than apples
  18. Heaviest Potato
  19. Most misshapen vegetable
  20. SECTION II FLOWERS AND POT PLANTS (Open)

  21. Largest leaf, from your garden(measured by area)
  22. A specimen bloom chrysanthemum
  23. A vase of three disbudded chrysanthemums
  24. One stem of spray chrysanthemum
  25. A vase of three stems of spray chrysanthemums. Any variety or varieties
  26. A vase of hardy perennials, max. 9 stems, one or more kinds
  27. One dahlia over 200mm diameter(giant or large)
  28. Three dahlias between 150mm & 220mm diameter(medium), one or more varieties
  29. Three decorative or ball dahlias up to 170mm diameter (small or miniature), one or more varieties
  30. Three cactus/semi cactus dahlias up to 170mm diameter (small or Miniature), one or more varieties
  31. Three pompon dahlias up to 52mm, one or more varieties
  32. Three dahlias, any other group not mentioned in classes 26-30
  33. A display of mixed dahlias
  34. A rose bloom, large flowered
  35. A vase of three stems of large flowered roses, one or more varieties
  36. Floribunda rose, one stem
  37. A vase of any kind of flower not mentioned above, not more than nine stems
  38. A vase of mixed garden flowers
  39. A vase of foliage and/or berries/seed heads
  40. A cactus or succulent
  41. A pot plant in flower
  42. A pot plant foliage
  43. A pot plant in fruit
  44. SECTION III -FLORAL ART (Open)

  45. "Rhapsody in Blue" – a miniature exhibit not exceeding 4” overall, open staging
  46. “Under the Greenwood Tree”, an exhibit of foliage to be staged in a niche, 24” wide, 36” high
  47. “Antique Road Show”, incorporating an historical item, exhibit to be staged in a niche. width 24”, height 36”
  48. SECTION IV - PHOTOGRAPHY (Open)

  49. “Wood”
  50. “Summer Show”
  51. “Riverside View”
  52. “Farm / Garden Machinery”
  53. “An Insect (close-up) - up to A4 in size”
  54. Taken by the exhibitor, the exhibit not previously to have won a prize at one of the Society's shows. Unmounted, max size 7" x 5" colour.

    SECTION V - HOME FARE (Open)

  55. A fruit cake
  56. Six cheese scones
  57. A plate of six plain meringues (no cream)
  58. Six jam tarts (short crust pastry)
  59. A loaf of teabread
  60. A pot of fruit jelly
  61. SECTION VI - CHILDREN'S CLASSES (Open)

  62. (Pre-school) A fingerprint painting
  63. (6 yrs and under) Leaf Rubbing
  64. (13 yrs and under) Origami
