RETIRED STARS

These are generally Japanese Bobtails who are retired from showing and/or breeding who want / need / deserve a very special home. These cats have all received excellent care and are in excellent health. They are all spayed or neutered. They are all well-loved. How can I give them up? It is because I love them so much so that I recognize their need for their own people. After all they have given me, whether an illustrious show career and/or beautiful babies and lots of love, they now deserve to have their own home with their own person … a loving home where they don’t have to fight for my attention. Usually their "adoption fee" is quite reasonable ($75-$350) making them affordable for most people.

All of these cats live with other cats and (because I work with
Collie Rescue) at least one dog; however, not all will prefer to continue to do so. Please carefully read the brief summary of each one and then contact us for additional information.

Many people have concerns about taking home an “older cat.” If you’re one of these people, please click

GRAND PREMIER, GRAND CHAMPION JA-KOI'S TAKARA SHIMA - See *Stars* Page for picture. This beautiful black & white, blue-eyed longhair girl is ready to walk into your life and your heart. She finished the 2007/2008 show season as 14th best cat in the Midwest Region. She is always a lady who loves to be petted so much, she will butt her head into the palm of your hand. But boy does she love to play -- she'll stalk the toys and pounce on one out of nowhere -- and she can jump so high, you'll be totally amazed. Unfortunately, she has some food allergies, but they are easily controlled by diet. Very Reasonable Adoption Fee

SMUDGE

Smudge was born in February of 2006. She is an odd-eyed (one blue eye, one green/gold eye), black & white, spayed female Shorthair JBT. Also known as "Miss Personality," Smudge loves to carry on a conversation...she'll talk to you all day. She is a sweetie, loves to be loved to the point that she'll give you little "love nibbles." She would make an ideal companion!

ASHI

An odd-eyed, Longhair Mi-Ke, born August 15, 2003, Ashi is one very special kitty. Even as I write this, I am not 100% sure that I can let her leave me ... you will have to be one very special person/family to convince me that you can love her more than me and give her a wonderful home. Ashi was one of a litter of 5. For whatever reason, she would never nurse and so was handraised by me. When she was only 3 weeks old, she got VERY VERY ill ... so ill, that she went everywhere with me so that I could keep tabs on her and medicate her. I slept in bed in a sitting position, holding her in a "sitting" position, so she could breathe. She went to work with me and was well loved by everyone she ever met. Her name is "Ashita" which means "tomorrow" because we didn't think she'd have too many tomorrows. Well, she turned into a beautiful & healthy, altho little, adult, she is a GRAND, but to this day she doesn't believe she is a cat! She doesn't really play much with other cats, she refuses to eat out of the same bowl with another cat, she can use her paws like fingers, and, are you ready for this, SHE SUCKS HER THUMB! She is extremely affectionate and sweet and loving and playful and gets along with children ... she is happy so long as you are paying attention to her. And that is the only reason I may be looking for another home for her ... with all my cats and dogs, I don't think she's getting enough attention. So if you are a very special person who would love a cat that doesn't think she's a cat, then drop me a line and we'll see what Ashi thinks.>
