The letters EMS stand for 'Easy Mind System'.
It was intended to be both easy and logical and is not a genetically
based system. It describes a cats breed, colour, pattern and eye colour.
An EMS code consists of a three letter breed code in upper case,
followed by one or more colour letters in lower case, then pattern and
other numeric codes if appropriate.
The following is an extract of the FIFe EMS System specific to Norwegian
Forest Cats.

Thus a brown mackerel tabby and white Norwegian Forest Cat has the
following EMS Colour Code :
