A Great Man Who Inspired Us All

(Earvin Magic Johnson)

  Earvin Magic Johnson is a legendary African-American basketball player. He joined the NBA at age 20, as well as, winning the championship with the Michigan State University in 1979. As a key player for the Los Angeles Lakers, he won up to five National Basketball Association championships, along with being the MVP (Most Valuable Player) three times! (1987, 1989, and 1990). However, an incurable deadly disease has overcome Magic Johnson.  He has announced that he had tested positive for HIV. He retired from professional basketball and settled down with his family and friends in 1991. Now, he works frequently to promote AIDS awareness, where he bring people to the attention of AIDS. He also played on the U.S. Olympic “Dream Team,” made brief comebacks with Los Angeles, and coached the LA Lakers in 1994. Since his retirement Magic Johnson has lived a healthy and successful live. Also, since Earvin Magic Johnson's broadcast HIV announcement people are now alert to the fact people besides homosexual can have AIDS. As a celebrity and well-known athlete, Mr. Johnson made a major influence to major history.
