After a few emails on December 30th, the date of January 3rd 2003 had been secured as the date of the Great Movie Marathon celebrating my 14th birthday.
It was requested that all guests bring a Great movie (holding to my definition of Great, that is) and a snack. Well, everyone brought at least one movie. Nobody brought snacks, but I gave Sean a bag of hot fries for Christmas that went pretty fast.
From the arrival of my first guest (Robert, also the first person to know about this event and respond to the e-invite) to the departure of the last two guys (Burbage and Sean, who was not castrated) things were interesting. Shoes were thrown on the roof, children chased with poles, Ramen broth poured along a table, and Vin Diesel was knocked up. Robert caused a brief stir by walking off without telling anyone where or why he was going (he went outside because he needed to wake up), and then proceeded to piss me off when I followed him to see what was up. Sister Ron and her little friend Misty were nosy, prying brats whenever they were in my presence. I left scuff marks on the pantry door, courtesy of my pixie combats.
Here follows a list of movies watched during the marathon. Someday (maybe today, I don’t know) they will have reviews. If there’s a review, the movie title will appear as a link.
xXx
Vampire Hunter D
MTV LotR Spoof
Sleepy Hollow (which we never finished)
The Princess Bride
Spaceballs
The Lost Boys
Labyrinth
There you have it. I hope that next year (or maybe later this year) the gang can have another GMM. There were some Great movies that were brought (Goonies, The Faculty, Ghostbusters) that were not viewed. We forgot to watch “The Princess and the Goblin”, which truly sucked. I’d also like to get ahold of “The Ghost In The Shell”, “The Hunger”, and “Pulp Fiction”. And maybe next time Robert can bring “Ninja Scrolls”.
