In 1977, the Watchung Arts Council was founded with the purpose of "providing the Watchung Hills and surrounding communities with a diversified and active arts program." A non-profit organization, our constitution mandates our purpose as "To create a broad and general interest in both the performing and visual arts, as well as related pursuits. To this end, the Watchung Arts Center promotes, fosters and perpetuates all branches of the Arts through performances, exhibits, classes, and other appropriate means." Today, our programs bring over 1000 visitors a month to our facility located on the Watchung Village Circle.We are pleased to commemorate the Twenty-Third Anniversary of the Watchung Arts Center with Spring Into the Millennium at the Chanticler Chateau in Warren, and hope our patrons will join us for a wonderful evening to celebrate our role in supporting the Arts in the Watchung Hills.
