Doug Thiel Honored for Service

Doug Thiel was honored at our annual meeting for his enduring dedication to the Conservancy along with his outstanding leadership in support of the preservation and enhancement of our natural resources. He completed nine years of service as a board member during which time he served as President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Stewardship Chair. Those positions give only a glimmer of his contributions however. Doug has been supportive in so many aspects of Conservancy operations, from being instrumental in establishing and designing the GINLC website to negotiating for office space at Centennial Farm. With his love of hiking, bird-watching, hunting and fishing and his educational background in Wildlife Management Biology, Doug has been an invaluable resource in evaluating prospective properties for land preservation. The Conservancy is grateful to have benefited so significantly from Doug's expertise, talents and dedication over the years and wish him a restful sabbatical from the board. we look forward to his return.
