Pat Selby spent most of her childhood in trees, and has always enjoyed the outdoors. A position at BASF in Wyandotte brought her and her family (Ron, Kat and DJ Brausch) to Grosse Ile 12 years ago. The whole family has enjoyed the island's proximity to nature, from walks through greens pace and along the river to seeing coyotes in their front yard. Through her position at BASF, she learned about the area's recovery from its industrial history. She is eager to learn more and become involved especially in the conservancy's stewardship efforts.

After 21 years as an engineer in the chemical industry, Pat went back to school to become an attorney. She is currently working as a federal judicial law clerk in downtown Detroit.

Cathy Old field has been a resident of Grosse Ile for 25 years. She is most recently a retired Display Manager, Hudsons, but has also been in automotive engineering and design, an engineering assistant, a draftsman, technical/ graphic illustrator, a warranty analyst, and a banking, financial services representative. She is currently attending Henry Ford Community College and hopes to be in the Respiratory Therapy Program in the Fall '08.

Oldfield is also a member of the Grosse Ile Rotary. "GINLC has been a wonderful support for the Rotary's efforts working with the children of Delray," says Old field. "Both the gift of knowledge and the shared fun makes a huge difference in their lives."
