It is with great sadness that I must post this message.
Teresa's long battle with cancer has ended this morning at 10:35. The
disease progressed very rapidly in the last few days. It was a
combination of the cancer and the latest radiation wearing her down. The
doctor visit on Thursday was going normal until Dr. Squires recommended
that we may need hospice help. I confidently assured him that Teresa's
mother and I could handle what needed to be done. We were not seeing the
big picture that his professional eyes could. We ended up going straight
to hospice house for the 2-3 day stay to get Teresa's pain under
control. On Friday Dr. Squires came by to see Teresa, and told her moma
that she would probably not leave the house and would be deceased by the
end of the weekend. It did not hit me until then that we would not get
to take her home and have her with us for a little longer. Everyone that
came was a blessing for us all. Teresa's family was abundantly
supportive and she would have approved of all the attention for her. The
people/ nurses were great at the hospice house and we would have been
lost without this facility. Anyone in the same situation should contact
Heartland hospice near Doctors hospital. Thanks to all Teresa's friends
for the normal outpouring of support for her. Teresa clung to life
heartily and we tried to tell the nurse that this was her personality.
Later the nurse said what we all knew, that she was the toughest lady
that she had ever had...HELLO! Well I'm running out of time to post, so
I'll finish with this. We are all less one Great Lady, and she will be
missed terribly. If you want to post a reply they will all be saved and
archived for future viewing. Teresa loved you all and thanks everyone
for keeping her alive with the hope that our Christ puts in us. I also
thank everyone and just know that Teresa is now in charge up there! Love
to all, Britt
