Great Uncle Wiley Oakley "Roaming Man Of The Mountains" was born 12 Sept. 1885 in Sevier, Tn. He died 18 Nov. 1954 in Gatlinburg, Tn. He is buried in White Oak Flats Cemetery in Gatlinburg. On 19 Jan. 1906, he married Rebecca Ann Ogle. Rebecca was born 25 Dec. 1890. Their children are/were: Elmer, Lucinda, Martha, Woodrow, Orville, Harvey, Katherine, Charles, Ruben, David, Clara Jane, and Wiley Casey.
Lucinda Oakley was born 9 June 1909 in Gatlinburg, Tn. She married Ernest Ogle . He was born 14 April 1906 in Gatlinburg, Tn. Their children are/were: Jeanette, Mary Frances, and Billie Lois.
Known grandchildren of Lucinda and Ernest Ogle are: Mary Lynn, Craig, Tammy, and Ricky. Information on the family of Wiley Oakley was given on the 29 Oct. 1981 by Lucinda Oakley Ogle. Much of our family history was first preserved by Lucinda. We owe her much thanks!

Lucinda Oakley Ogle, 94, of Gatlinburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Rebecca (Ogle) Oakley; husband, Earnest Ogle; infant daughter, Jeanette Louise; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughters, Billie Noland and Mary Frances Waters; grandchildren, Craig Noland, Tammy Noland, Ricky Noland, Jeff Noland, and Mary Lynn Solcum; great-grandchildren, Missy Williams, Debbie Noland, Nicki Noland, Laci Noland, Josh Noland, Christy Noland, and Laura and Lisa; brothers, Harvey, Woodrow, and Casey and Dave Oakley; sister, Martha Rawlings. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Burcham and eulogy by Bill Landry. Interment will follow in Pigeon Forge Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gatlinburg Garden Club, P.O. Box 1427, Gatlinburg, TN, 37738 or First Baptist Church, 111 Oglewood Lane, Gatlinburg, TN, 37738.
